Why threading and not waxing on the face
- More precise Thread removes a single row of hair at a time. Wax removes a strip. For a brow line, that difference is the whole job.
- Gentler on facial skin The skin around the eye is thin. Wax pulls at it, and repeated waxing there is not kind to it over years.
- Safe on skin using retinol or acids Waxing that skin can lift the surface layer. Threading does not. If you use any active skincare, this matters and most people are never told.
- No product on the skin Nothing to react to. For sensitive or acne prone skin this is the deciding factor.
Choosing a shape that suits your face
A photograph of a celebrity brow is a reference, not a plan. The shape that works on you depends on where your natural arch sits and how much hair you actually have.
- Round face A defined arch adds length. A flat, straight brow makes a round face look rounder.
- Long or oval face A flatter, more horizontal brow balances it. A high arch exaggerates the length.
- Square face with a strong jaw A soft curved arch works better than a sharp angular one, which competes with the jawline.
- Heart shaped face A gently rounded brow softens a wider forehead.
- Sparse or over threaded brows Go thicker than feels comfortable and grow it out. Thinning further to "even them up" is how people end up with almost nothing.
Nobody has symmetrical eyebrows. Chasing perfect symmetry is the single fastest way to end up with two thin ones.
