What to expect
Full hands, front and back, starts at ₹999. Bridal mehndi covering hands and feet starts at ₹3,999 and is charged from there depending on how far up the arms and legs the design goes and how dense you want it. We agree that before starting, not while your hands are already covered.
We use natural henna cones rather than anything with added chemical dye. Black henna sold as "instant" contains PPD, which is a hair dye chemical, and it causes chemical burns and lasting scarring on some people. It is genuinely dangerous and we do not keep it. Natural henna starts orange and darkens over 24 to 48 hours to a deep maroon, and that is what a real stain looks like.
How dark yours goes depends on your skin, your body heat and what you do afterwards more than on the cone. Leave it on as long as you can stand, at minimum four hours and overnight if it is a bridal design. Scrape it off, never wash it off. Keep water off it for the next twelve hours, and a little mustard oil or balm on it helps. Palms and the soles of feet always take the deepest colour. The back of the hand always takes less.
For a wedding, book the bride's mehndi so it finishes at least 24 hours before the main function, not the same day. The colour on the day is decided by how long the stain has had to develop, and no amount of skill in the design compensates for applying it too late.
