Party makeup is the service where the difference between a good result and a disappointing one has almost nothing to do with the products. It comes down to two questions the artist should ask you before starting, and often does not.
Those questions are: what time is the function, and is it indoors or on a lawn. Everything else follows from them.
Why the venue decides the makeup
A heavy, full coverage base looks flawless under indoor lighting and in a mirror. Take the same face into Jaipur afternoon daylight and it reads flat and mask like, with a visible line at the jaw.
The opposite also happens. A light, natural base that looks lovely in daylight disappears entirely under a banquet hall's yellow lighting and in flash photographs, where it can wash you out completely.

HD or airbrush
Both look good. The choice is practical rather than aesthetic, and there is a ₹3,000 gap on bridal work, so it is worth understanding.
- Airbrush Sprayed in fine layers, sits lighter on the skin, and holds up far better through heat and a long day. Worth it for a summer function or anything running more than five hours.
- HD Applied with brush and sponge, more buildable, easier to touch up or adjust halfway through. Better if you want a heavier finish, and it costs less.
- For most party bookings HD at ₹1,499 is the sensible choice. Airbrush earns its price on a wedding day, not on a three hour evening function.
How long to actually allow
The single most common scheduling mistake is booking makeup to finish exactly when you need to leave.
- Party makeup alone: 75 minutesThat is the working time, not counting setup.
- Makeup plus hairstyle: 2 hoursHair takes longer than people expect, particularly curls that need to set.
- Add 30 minutes of bufferFor getting dressed, jewellery, and the inevitable delay. Finishing 30 minutes early has never caused a problem. Finishing 15 minutes late has.
- Saree or lehenga draping: 30 minutes on topWorth booking if you have not draped that particular piece before.
What to have ready before the artist arrives
- Clean, moisturised face Moisturiser 20 minutes before, not right as she arrives. Base does not sit properly on skin that is still wet.
- Do your threading two or three days earlier Not the same day. Freshly threaded skin is slightly raised and can react to base.
- A chair and a mirror near a window Natural light is what the artist works by. A dim corner is how mismatched foundation happens.
- Your outfit within reach So the shade choices can be checked against it before anything is set.
- One reference photo, not eight Helpful. Eight photos of eight different faces is not a brief, and the artist will end up guessing.
If a look in your reference photo will not sit the same way on your face shape or skin tone, a good artist tells you before starting rather than after.

Party makeup includes base, contour, eye makeup, lashes and setting spray. We use MAC, Huda Beauty, Kryolan and Colorbar. Brushes are sanitised after every client and sponges are new each time, which matters more on makeup than most people realise.
One thing worth flagging: if you have had a reaction to a foundation or a lash adhesive before, tell us at booking. We will bring an alternative rather than discover it on your face an hour before a function.
