What to expect
Every facial includes the full sequence: cleansing, a gentle scrub, steam, blackhead and whitehead extraction, massage, and a finishing pack. The massage runs a full 15 to 20 minutes. In a busy salon that is the first step to get cut short when the chairs are full. At home it cannot be, because the appointment belongs only to you.
Products are branded and sealed, and the kit is opened in front of you. If a particular ingredient has caused a reaction before, and fragrance and salicylic acid are the usual ones, tell us when you book and we will bring a different product. We will also run a patch test if this is your first facial with us.

Before your appointment
- Come with a clean face and no makeup — the consultation and any patch test are wasted on top of foundation.
- Mention any past reaction to a product or ingredient when you book, not when the beautician is at the door.
After your appointment
- Skip makeup for the rest of the day. Open pores under fresh foundation, not the facial itself, is what usually causes a breakout.
- Stay out of direct sun for a few hours, especially after a de tan or brightening facial.
- Don't pick at any extraction marks. They settle on their own within a day.

Will a facial break me out?
A well-matched facial should not. Breakouts usually come from makeup or sunscreen applied straight afterward, while pores are still open, not from the facial itself. That is also why we ask about your skin type before opening any product, and why sensitive skin gets a patch test first.
Do you bring everything needed for facial?
Yes. The beautician arrives with the products, towels and all equipment required. You only need to provide a comfortable space and one power point. Kits are branded and are unsealed in front of you.
