What to expect
A root touch up is what most of our colour bookings actually are. Regrowth of two to three centimetres, done in about 45 minutes, ammonia free, at ₹699. Grey coverage uses a separate formula, because grey hair is coarser and does not take pigment the same way the rest of your hair does. Anyone applying one mix from root to tip on greying hair is going to give you a band, and you will see it in daylight even if you do not see it in the bathroom.
A global colour runs from ₹1,499 and takes around 90 minutes. The price varies with length, and we tell you the number before we open anything rather than after we have finished.
A strand test is not optional here and we will not skip it because you are in a hurry. It takes a few minutes on a hidden section and it is the difference between a colour you expected and one you have to live with for eight weeks. If you have used henna in the last six months, tell us. Metallic salts in some henna react with peroxide in a way that can genuinely damage hair, and that is a conversation to have before, not during.
Jaipur water works against colour harder than most people realise. Hard water strips tone fast, which is why a colour that looked right in week one goes brassy by week four here and does not in Delhi. A hair spa every third week slows that noticeably, and it is cheaper than recolouring.

Do you use ammonia free hair colour?
Yes, and it is what we default to for root touch ups. Ammonia free is gentler on the scalp and on already processed hair. It is slightly less powerful on stubborn grey, so on heavy grey we will tell you honestly which of the two will actually hold and let you pick.
Will hair colour cover my grey completely?
Grey coverage is good but it depends on how much grey there is and how coarse it has become. Above roughly 60 percent grey, expect strong coverage rather than a perfect match to your natural shade, and expect to repeat it every four to five weeks. Anyone promising permanent full coverage from one sitting is overselling.
Is a strand test really necessary?
Yes, and we do it every time including on repeat clients. It takes a few minutes on a hidden section and it is what tells us how your hair takes the colour today, which is not always how it took it last time. It also catches a reaction before it is on your whole head.
I have used henna. Can I still get chemical colour?
Tell us before booking. Pure henna is usually fine after a strand test, but many market henna mixes contain metallic salts, and those can react badly with peroxide. If the strand test shows a problem we will decline the colour and explain why, rather than proceed and damage your hair.
How long does colour last in Jaipur water?
Less time than it should, honestly. Hard water strips tone and most clients here see brassiness by week four rather than week six. A hair spa every third week and a sulphate free shampoo slow it down more than any expensive colour protect product will.
