To be clear at the top about what this is: a cosmetic beauty-parlour body-care service — body polishing, de tan and aroma oil relaxation — carried out by an NSQF Level 5 certified beautician. Bookings are accepted from women only. Nothing outside the salon treatments listed below is offered, and no booking outside them is accepted.
So the useful version of this guide is not a description of how relaxing it is. It is who comes, what we confirm before the visit, what the treatments actually do, and the claims we refuse to make about them.
Women only, and no exceptions
We take these bookings for women only, and the beautician who comes is always female. There is no exception to that: not for a male client, not for a family member, not on request. A booking that asks for anything other than the salon treatments listed here is declined.
You get the beautician’s name and photo at the time of booking, before the visit, not on the doorstep, and she carries a photo ID. If the person who arrives is not the person we named, you are entitled to turn the appointment away and we will not charge you. That policy exists because "someone from our team" is not an acceptable answer for this service and we would rather be held to a name.
The treatments, and what each one is for
- Full body polishing, from ₹1,499, about 75 minutes. A full body scrub, a de tan pack and a moisturising massage. This is the wedding season booking and it is also what people book after a long stretch of looking after everyone except themselves. The change in skin texture is noticeable in one sitting, which is not true of most things on our list.
- Relaxation body massage, ₹1,299, 60 minutes. Aromatherapy oils, full body, done for relaxation. That is the whole claim and the whole intent.
- Back and shoulder massage, ₹599, 30 minutes. The most booked of these by a distance, usually by people who sit at a desk all day. Half an hour, no full undressing, and the easiest one to add to another appointment.
- Foot reflexology massage, ₹599, 30 minutes. Pressure work on the feet. Pairs naturally with a pedicure and people who work standing up tend to book it more than once.
- Full body de tan, from ₹1,299, 60 minutes. For tan built up over a summer of scooter rides and open sleeves. It lifts surface tan. It does not change your skin tone, and anyone saying otherwise is lying to you.
- Back facial or back cleanup, ₹699, 45 minutes. Cleansing and extraction on the back, usually booked before a wedding or an event with a backless blouse. Genuinely useful and rarely thought of until the week before.
What the room needs
Less than people expect, but more than for a facial. A bed or a firm flat surface, a door that closes properly, one power point, and a bathroom nearby for the polishing and de tan treatments, which need a wash off. We bring towels, sheets, oils, packs and everything else.
A room with a door that actually latches matters more than the size of it. For an hour long treatment where you are partly undressed, being interrupted is the thing that ruins the appointment, and we would rather work in a small closed room than a large open one.
Allow a little more time than the treatment length. Seventy five minutes of polishing is seventy five minutes of treatment, plus setup, plus a wash off. Booking it ninety minutes before you need to leave the house is how a good appointment turns stressful.
The claims we will not make
This is a category where the marketing gets dishonest quickly, so here is where we stop.
- This is not therapeutic or medical massage. For a slipped disc, chronic back pain, a frozen shoulder or any injury, see a physiotherapist. Our therapists are trained in relaxation and beauty treatments, not in treating injuries, and a relaxation massage over an undiagnosed problem can make it worse.
- It does not cause weight loss or inch loss. No massage, wrap or machine in this city does, whatever is written on the board. If that is what you are being sold anywhere, that alone tells you what else they are willing to say.
- It does not detoxify anything. Your liver and kidneys handle that. A massage feels wonderful and improves how you feel afterwards, which is a real and sufficient reason to book one.
- Not during pregnancy, and not on broken skin. We do not take pregnancy massage bookings, because it needs specific training we do not claim to have. We also skip areas with cuts, rashes, sunburn or recent surgery, and we will tell you at the door rather than work around it quietly.
An hour of genuine relaxation is worth paying for on its own. It does not need a health claim attached to justify it.
