Booking a home service means letting a stranger into your house, usually when you are alone, and then letting them work on your skin. It is reasonable to have questions about that, and it is reasonable to expect clear answers.
This checklist applies to any home beauty service in Jaipur, not only ours. If a provider gets uncomfortable with these questions, that discomfort is useful information.
Before the appointment: who is coming
- Ask for the beautician’s name in advance. You should know who is arriving before they arrive. We confirm the name when confirming the booking. A service that will not tell you until the doorbell rings is not organised the way it should be.
- Confirm it will be a female beautician. Our entire team is female, without exception, and body massage and body care are women only services with a female beautician always. Confirm this explicitly rather than assuming.
- Ask who exactly is coming. A salon that cannot tell you the beautician's name before the appointment is not tracking who it sends. We send the name and photo on WhatsApp at confirmation, and she carries a photo ID.
- Check that the phone number is a real, answerable one. A business you can call back matters. A booking form with no phone number behind it is a risk.
At the door: what to check
- Confirm the name matchesThe person at the door should be the person you were told to expect. If it is a different beautician, you should have been informed beforehand.
- Check the kit is sealedA facial kit should be unsealed in front of you. If it arrives already opened, ask why before it goes anywhere near your skin.
- Look at the strips and spatulasNew for every client. Not washed, not from an open pile.
- Look at the tools pouchNail cutters, pushers and files should come in a sanitised sealed pouch, opened in front of you.
- Check the pedicure tub linerA fresh disposable liner every time. A shared unlined tub is the most common route for fungal infection between clients.
The double dipping rule
This deserves its own section because it is the single biggest hygiene failure in waxing, and it is easy to spot if you know to watch for it.
Once a spatula has touched your skin, it must not go back into the wax pot. If it does, everything in that pot has now been in contact with you, and it goes on to the next client. That is how skin infections travel between people.
A beautician working correctly uses a fresh spatula for each pass, or works from a decanted portion that is discarded afterwards. We do not double dip, without exception, and it is a fair thing to watch for anywhere you book.
You can watch for this without saying anything and without being rude. Just look at the pot.
What should never be done at home
A service that agrees to do these at home is telling you something about its standards.
- Chemical peels These need a clinical setting and someone qualified to manage a reaction. We decline these bookings.
- Laser hair removal Requires proper equipment, eye protection and medical oversight. Not a home service under any circumstances.
- Permanent makeup and microblading This is a needle procedure. It belongs in a licensed studio with proper sterilisation, not a bedroom.
- Callus removal on a diabetic foot Reduced sensation and slower healing make a small cut a serious risk. This needs a podiatrist. We turn down these bookings rather than take them.
- Bleach without a patch test Even for a client who has had bleach many times. Sensitivity builds over repeated exposure.
Promises that should make you cautious
These are common in beauty marketing across Jaipur and all of them are worth treating carefully.
- "Permanent fairness" Nothing safe permanently lightens natural skin tone. Products claiming this have historically contained steroids or mercury, which cause lasting damage.
- "Cracked heels cleared in one sitting" One sitting stops the pain. Deep cracks take two or three. We say this on the phone and lose some bookings over it.
- "Guaranteed hair regrowth" A hair spa improves the hair you have. Hair fall has medical causes and belongs with a doctor.
- "Results guaranteed" on before and after photos Ask whether the photos are of actual clients. Stock images presented as results are common, and a service willing to mislead there is willing to mislead elsewhere.
If something goes wrong
Reactions are uncommon but they do happen, and how a service responds is the real test.
- Say so immediately, during the appointmentBurning, stinging or unusual heat is not something to sit through politely. The product should come off straight away.
- Call the business, not just the beauticianYou want this on record with the people running the service.
- Photograph itReactions change over hours. A photograph at the time is useful for both a doctor and any complaint.
- See a doctor for anything beyond mild rednessA salon is not equipped to treat a reaction and should tell you so rather than offering a remedy.

Is it safe to call a beautician to my home in Jaipur?

What is double dipping and why does it matter?
