Nine nights of dancing, makeup, dust and short sleep is hard on skin. A facial before it begins is a good idea. A facial at the wrong time, or the wrong one, can leave you red or breaking out on the first night.
This is how to choose, and when.
How many days before
Book it four to five days before Navratri starts, so any reaction settles before the first night. With Navratri beginning on Sunday 11 October 2026, that means roughly the 6th or 7th. If you are inside that window now, pick a gentler facial and do not add anything new for the rest of the festival.

For most people a fruit or gold facial is enough. The more expensive ones are worth it for a specific reason, such as skin that needs more hydration or an occasion that justifies it, not simply because they cost more.
Skin that dances for nine nights
- Cleanse every night. Makeup, sweat and dust stay on skin otherwise. This matters more than any facial.
- Moisturise even if you are oily. Heat and dancing dry skin out, and a base sits better on hydrated skin.
- Sunscreen on the day. October afternoons in Jaipur are still strong. Reapply if you are outside.
- Take makeup off properly. Water alone does not remove it. See our guide to removing party makeup.
If you are fasting
Fasting can leave skin dry and a little dull. A gentle facial before the fast starts, with extra moisturiser through the nine days, is usually better than a strong treatment in the middle of it. We have a separate guide to skin and hair care during Navratri fasting.
