Weddings get months of planning. A cousin's birthday, an office party, a sangeet you are attending rather than hosting, or a festival gathering usually get about three days, and hands and feet are near the bottom of that list until someone notices a ring photo the next morning.

This is the short version aimed at exactly that: what to book, and how far ahead, for a function that is not the main event of your year but still shows up in photos.

How far ahead to actually book

One to two days before is the right window for most functions. Any closer and there is no time to fix anything that goes slightly wrong; much earlier and dust and daily wear undo some of the work before the event, especially on the hands, which touch far more through a normal day than feet do.

What to actually book

Book the crack heel treatment several days ahead if it applies, not the day before — it is a repair service, not a quick-fix one, and rushing it does not improve the result.

The mistake that actually shows up in photos

People book the pedicure and skip the hands, because feet get covered by footwear and forgotten about, and hands get remembered right before leaving the house. It is usually the reverse that shows up in photos: hands are in every close shot, holding a plate, wearing a ring, next to someone's shoulder, while feet are visible for a fraction of the evening at most.

If the budget or the time only stretches to one, hands are usually the better call for a function, unless the outfit specifically puts feet on display, like an anklet look with open footwear.

What a rushed booking gets you

  • Cuticles pushed rather than properly softened. The soak step needs its full time to work. Cut short, cuticle work looks rougher around the nail edge, which is exactly the detail that shows in a close-up ring photo.
  • Polish applied to skin that has not fully dried from the soak. Chips within hours, sometimes before the function even starts. Not a product problem, purely a timing one.
  • No time left for the massage. It is usually the first thing cut when a sitting is rushed, and it is also the part clients notice missing afterwards even if they cannot name what felt off.

Tell us it is for a function when you book and roughly what time you need to leave. We will build the sitting time backward from that so nothing gets rushed.

Common questions

How many days before a function should I book a manicure pedicure?

One to two days ahead works best for most functions. Closer than that leaves no time to fix anything minor; much earlier and daily wear, especially on hands, undoes some of the result before the event actually happens.

Should I book hands or feet if I can only fit one before a function?

Hands, in most cases. They appear in close-up photos far more than feet do through a normal evening, unless your outfit specifically puts feet on display, such as an anklet look with open footwear.

Can I book a manicure pedicure the same day as a function?

Yes. A combo takes about 75 minutes, so book it for the morning rather than a couple of hours before you need to leave, so nothing has to be rushed on either side.

What should I book if my heels have been cracking and I have a function coming up?

A crack heel treatment, booked well ahead rather than the day before. It is a repair service using a foot file and a healing balm, and deep cracking genuinely needs two or three sittings a fortnight apart, so it needs planning in advance rather than a last-minute add-on.
