On the wedding day itself, leaving the house for makeup is the last thing a bride wants to add to the schedule. Getting ready at home means the room stays hers, the people around her are the ones she actually wants there, and nobody is watching the clock in a waiting area.
The part that actually decides how the day goes, though, is not the wedding morning appointment. It is the trial, booked weeks earlier, and it is the step people skip most often when they are trying to save time.
HD or airbrush, and what the difference actually is
HD makeup is cream and liquid based, blended by hand, and it gives skin a natural finish that photographs well in daylight and under mixed lighting. It is the right choice for a day wedding, a haldi or a mehndi function, or any event with a lot of natural light in the photographs.
Airbrush is applied with a fine spray gun rather than brushes or sponges, sits lighter on the skin, and holds through heat and sweating far better than HD. It is what we recommend for evening weddings under harsh flash photography, long functions with dancing, or Jaipur’s May and June heat, where a heavier HD base can visibly move by the second hour.
The trial: when to book it and why it matters
The trial session is included free with both bridal packages and runs about 90 minutes on its own. This is where the actual look gets decided: base shade, eye colour, lip finish, how heavy or light the contour goes, whether the look leans traditional or modern.
- Book it 10 to 15 days before the wedding.Not the week of. That gap leaves genuine room to try a second direction if the first trial does not feel right, without the pressure of a wedding date bearing down on the decision.
- We photograph the trial in daylight and in a dim room.A look that reads perfectly in daylight can flatten under evening lighting, and the only way to know is to check both before the actual day, not after.
- Come with your outfit colour and jewellery decided, if possible.Base tone, eye colour and lip shade all get chosen against what you will actually be wearing. A trial done without that information is a good makeup look that may not be the right makeup look.
- The wedding day is a repeat of the trial, not a fresh attempt.We work from the trial photos so the final result matches what you approved, rather than the artist interpreting the brief again from scratch on a morning with no time to redo anything.

For a family wedding where the bride, mother and a sister or two all need makeup on the same morning, tell us the headcount in advance. We send more than one artist so nobody is rushed through the last thirty minutes to make it to the mandap on time.
What we will not promise
Bridal makeup gets sold on transformation more than almost any other beauty service, and that is where the honesty matters most.
- We do not promise you will look "unrecognisable". Good bridal makeup enhances what is already there: skin, eyes, features. If a reference photo you are showing us is a genuinely different face shape or feature set, we will say so at the trial, not let you find out on the wedding morning.
- Skin preparation starts weeks before the makeup, not the morning of. A hydra facial, a de-tan and clear skin the night before do more for how the makeup sits than any product on our kit. If your skin has active breakouts or an unresolved reaction in the week before the wedding, tell us. Makeup applied over irritated skin looks worse, not better, by the evening.
- We use branded products, and we will not substitute quietly. MAC, Huda Beauty, Kryolan and Colorbar are what the kit is built from. If you have a known reaction to a specific brand or ingredient, tell us at the trial so we can bring an alternative rather than adjust on the wedding morning itself.
- This is HD and airbrush makeup, not permanent makeup or microblading. If what you actually want is a permanent brow or lip tint, that is a different, specialised service we do not offer at home, and we will tell you so rather than apply something temporary and call it that.
The trial is the actual decision. The wedding day appointment is just repeating it correctly.

Will bridal makeup fix uneven skin or dark spots?
Makeup covers and evens tone for the day, it does not treat the skin underneath. What actually improves how it sits is preparation in the weeks before: a hydra facial, a de-tan, and clear skin without active breakouts. If there is an unresolved skin issue in the week before the wedding, tell us so we can plan the base accordingly rather than discover it at the trial.
