Your First Beauty Parlour Booking at Home in Jaipur

What to expect the first time you book a parlour at home in Jaipur: setting up the room, what she brings, the hygiene questions worth asking, and what to do if something goes wrong.

The questions we get from first time clients are almost never about the treatment. They are about the room. Where do I sit. Will it make a mess. Is my flat big enough. Do I have to tidy up first.

Nobody puts these on a website because they sound small, so here they are answered properly. The short version: you need less space than you think, and you do not have to tidy up.

Why people switch, and it is usually not the price

The saving is real, but almost nobody gives it as their reason. What they say instead falls into three groups.

  • Time. A ₹499 facial in a salon is a two and a half hour outing once you count the traffic on Tonk Road and the wait after you arrive. At home it is fifty minutes.
  • A room to yourself. No curtained cubicle, no queue behind you, and nothing gets cut short because the chairs are full. This is the reason most clients give once they have tried it.
  • Not being rushed. Anyone who has had a facial massage cut to six minutes because the salon was full knows exactly what this means.

Setting the room up, which takes about two minutes

You need one spot where you can sit or lie comfortably for the length of the treatment, with light good enough to work by, and one power point within reach. That is genuinely the whole list.

  • For a facial or clean up A bed or a sofa you can lie back on. Daylight is better than a tube light for judging skin, so a room with a window is worth choosing.
  • For waxing A bed and a door that shuts. That is the only requirement people care about and it is a fair one.
  • For a pedicure A chair you can sit upright in, with room for the tub at your feet. A tiled floor is easier than carpet but not necessary. We bring a sheet either way.
  • For hair A bathroom nearby helps for the wash. Not essential, since a portable basin arrangement works, but it does make the whole thing faster.
  • For body treatments Somewhere you can lie down privately for over an hour with the door closed. This is worth thinking about before booking rather than while she is setting up.

What she brings, and what stays with you

Everything technical comes with her: branded products in sealed packs, towels, a portable steamer, the pedicure tub and liner, the tool pouch, and a trolley to lay it all out. Nothing gets borrowed from your bathroom.

Water comes from your tap, which is the one thing we do use, and for hair services that matters more than it sounds. Jaipur water is hard almost everywhere and noticeably harder on borewell supply in Vaishali Nagar, Jhotwara and Murlipura. It is why hair here goes rough faster than it does elsewhere and why a clarifying wash makes more difference than an expensive shampoo.

What stays with you afterwards is nothing. Used strips, sheets, tub liners, cotton, cut hair: it all goes into a bag and leaves. You should not be sweeping up after a home appointment.

The hygiene questions worth asking anyone

Ask these of every home service you consider, including us. A business that finds them awkward is telling you something.

  • Is the wax spatula ever re dipped after touching skin? It must not be. This is the main route infections travel in waxing and it is common because re dipping saves wax.
  • Are strips new for every client? They should be. Cloth strips that get washed and reused exist and they are not worth the saving.
  • Is the pedicure tub lined? A fresh disposable liner each time, or your feet are sitting where someone else's were.
  • Are the tools sealed until they reach me? Cutters, pushers and files should come out of a sanitised pouch opened in front of you, not out of a loose bag.
  • Do you patch test before bleach and strand test before colour? Both should be automatic, including on repeat clients. Both take five minutes. Skipping them to save time is a decision made in your interest by nobody.

If something is not right

Say it while she is still there. That sounds obvious and almost nobody does it, because saying it feels rude in your own drawing room in a way it does not in a shop.

An eyebrow shape you are not happy with, a colour going warmer than you wanted, a massage pressure that is too light: all of these are fixable in the moment and almost none of them are fixable the next day. Our beauticians are told to check in mid treatment for exactly this reason, but a client saying it directly is faster.

The most useful thing you can do in your first booking is interrupt. It is your room and your face, and nobody minds.

If you are booking for the first time, say so on WhatsApp. We allow extra time on a first appointment rather than running it to the clock, and it costs you nothing.

Common questions

How much space do I need for a home parlour appointment?

Very little. One spot where you can sit or lie comfortably, decent light, and a power point within reach. A bed or sofa covers facials and waxing, an upright chair covers a pedicure. She brings the sheets, the trolley and everything else.

Do I need to clean my house before the beautician arrives?

No. Sheets go down before anything starts and everything used leaves in a bag afterwards. Tidying for an hour before an appointment you booked to save time defeats the point, and no beautician is inspecting your flat.

Will I know who is coming to my house?

Yes. We send the beautician's name and photo on WhatsApp before the visit, and she is always female. She carries a photo ID you can check at the door. If anything does not match what we sent you, call us before letting anyone in.

What if I do not like how it is turning out?

Say so while she is still there. An eyebrow shape, a colour tone or a massage pressure can all be adjusted in the moment and almost none of them can be fixed the next day. Interrupting is completely normal and nobody minds.

Do you need to use my towels or bathroom?

Towels, no, she brings her own. Water from your tap, yes, and for hair services a nearby bathroom makes the wash faster although it is not essential. Nothing else in your house gets used.
