Karva Chauth is on Thursday 29 October 2026. If it is your first since the wedding, you will be dressed up and looked at more than usual, and most of the day you will be fasting.
That combination decides the plan: get most of the preparation done the day before, so the day itself is only about getting dressed.
The day before
- Mehndi. Full hands from ₹999, about 90 minutes. The evening before gives the colour time to deepen. Our guide on how long mehndi lasts explains what helps the stain.
- Manicure and pedicure. The combo is ₹699. Do it before mehndi, not after, since your hands are out of use once the paste is on.
- Threading and any waxing. The day before, or two days before if your skin reddens easily.
- Lay out the outfit and jewellery. Try it all together, so you know how the dupatta and hair will sit.
Karva Chauth day: what to book
The moonrise puja is in the evening, so you need not be ready in the morning. A late afternoon slot means your makeup is freshest at the time you are photographed. Hairstyle and makeup together are ₹1,999, and draping is ₹499 extra. It takes about two and a half hours in total, so plan to start well before the puja.
Keep the look light on the skin. After a day without water your skin will be drier than usual, so a heavy base will show it. Ask for a hydrating prep and a satin finish rather than matte.
Look after yourself
- Do not book anything long in the middle of the day. Sitting still while hungry is hard.
- Keep water and something sweet nearby for after the puja.
- Pack a small touch-up kit: lipstick, blotting sheets and pins.
- Tell the beautician if you feel faint. A short break is always fine.
