Ask five people which facial to get and you will hear five answers, most of them based on whatever their friend booked. Age is one of the more useful starting points, because skin tends to do different things at different stages. It is not a prescription: a 28-year-old with dry, sun-worn skin may want what a typical 40-year-old does, and the other way round.
Use this to know what to ask for. Treat the age ranges as loose.

| 40s and beyond | Dryness, loss of firmness, deeper lines | Anti ageing and skin tightening ₹1,499, hydra ₹1,899 |
Teens and your 20s
Skin in this stage is often oily and producing more than it needs to, which means blackheads and the occasional breakout. A cleanup every three to four weeks is usually enough, and a simple fruit facial a step up when you want a glow for something.
If this is a first facial for a teenager, our guide on teenagers' first facials goes through what to expect and what to leave out.
Your 30s
This is where most people start to notice that skin looks tired even after a good night's sleep: a little duller, a little drier, the first fine lines near the eyes. Hydration does more here than anything abrasive. Gold and diamond facials are classic, and the hydra facial adds a deeper, glass-skin finish for events.
- Sun matters more than any facial. A lot of early visible ageing is sun-related, so daily sunscreen does more than monthly facials.
- Space your facials. Every four to six weeks suits most skin. More often rarely helps.
Your 40s and beyond
Skin makes less oil, loses some firmness and holds less water, so it tends to look drier and more lined. The anti ageing and skin tightening facial at ₹1,499 is built for this: it is cosmetic, it hydrates and gives a firmer-looking, fresher finish for a while.
The full explanation is in our guide to anti-ageing facials.
Why age is the weaker guide
- Skin type matters more. Oily, dry or combination decides the products used, whatever your age.
- Sun and lifestyle. Years of unprotected sun, smoking, poor sleep or pollution can make skin look older than the number.
- Sensitivity. Reactive or acne-prone skin needs gentler handling at any age. See our guide on facials for sensitive skin.
- The occasion. A wedding in two weeks and a monthly refresh call for different choices, whatever your age.
Tell us your skin type, what bothers you and when you next need to look your best. We will recommend one facial, and say so if a cheaper one will do.
Common questions
Which facial is best for someone in their 20s?
A cleanup (₹299) every few weeks and a fruit facial (₹499) when you want a glow usually suit oilier, younger skin. Persistent or painful acne should be seen by a dermatologist.
What facial should I get in my 30s?
Gold (₹699) or diamond (₹899) facials are classic choices, with hydra (₹1,899) for events. Hydration and sunscreen matter more than frequent treatments.
Is an anti-ageing facial worth it in my 40s?
It can leave skin hydrated and looking firmer for a few weeks. It does not reverse ageing or remove deep lines, and it should not be sold as if it did.
How often should I get a facial?
Every four to six weeks suits most skin, with a cleanup every three to four weeks for oily skin. More often rarely adds anything.
Does age decide which facial I should choose?
It is a starting point. Skin type, sun history, sensitivity and the occasion matter just as much.
