Navratri 2026 runs from Sunday 11 October to Monday 19 October, and many families wear a different colour each day. The list below follows the sequence most 2026 calendars publish. Lists can vary by region and by publication, so if your family or temple follows another, go with that.
Choosing the outfit is the easy part. The harder question is what to do with your face once you are in orange or royal blue, so each day has a suggestion for lips, eyes and hair.

Colours that need a little more thought
- White (Day 2). Shows every shadow and every bit of uneven tone. Keep the base light and even, and avoid a heavy matte finish that turns grey in photographs.
- Yellow (Day 5). Can wash out some skin tones. A warmer, peachier lip and a touch of colour on the cheeks stop the face looking pale.
- Grey (Day 7). Easy to look flat in. A defined eye or a confident lip gives it life.
- Red (Day 3). Choose either a red lip or red in the outfit, not both loudly. The eyes can then carry the rest.
Hair, whatever the colour

You do not need nine looks
